Fit both of my cast iron pans fairly well. Fits the 9" lodge perfectly and the 12" utopia slightly looser due to a ridge near the handle. As others have noted, it is not a tight fit (nor should it be) because it needs to dissipate the heat within the handle, be prepared for this when lifting as you will need to get used to squeezing down on the handle. I haven't had either melt or deform on me yet, and I've heated up both pans on very high flames for long periods of time. The smaller pan, if heated very high will still require an oven mitt to grab, as the heat has less surface area to cool off. For most uses it's not needed, but it did surprise me (not burned, but very warm) when I was cooking with both pans at the same time, same heat, and I was able to grab the 12" with no issue. This would explain people's varying experiences here. The smaller the pan, the less surface area, the less effective this handle will be. Overall, I enjoy using these a lot more than having to leave pot holders by every pan. Most of the time, I do not need an oven mitt in addition to them, so I think it was well worth the $6 I paid.
